Mental Training
Mental training is about putting your mind in the place that you desire to go or will end up in. Used for competition mental training is both visual and physical as well as spiritual and scientific. It will help remove doubt from your techniques by giving you mental focus, relief and strategy. Hypnosis:
Self hypnosis is one of the core key elements to mental training. Training your unconscious mind will enable your conscious mind to react automatically in combat or in time of stress. Its a great stress reliever for training and everyday life and a very relaxing program.

Music is very hypnotizing and is a great focusing device. Use it to relax, keep time, and distract the mind, for most anything.

Set the stage or make the environment ready for your journey. We used to play the Rocky 5 soundtrack in our Submission Class for 1 hour and the group would train like madmen. Use whatever you need to get the training done but use music as a positive tool. (I do a deep breathing program before I nap; complete breaths in and out for 3 minutes as I walk down a tall water tower into the dark)

Simplifying techniques to natural GMS movements and using sounds or tones to flow the techniques together is naturally hypnotizing and is the ultimate goal in creating mental flow.

Visual Training:
Close your eyes and picture a technique or a position in your head. Look at the mechanics or angles of your position and think about what the next position is. When you know where you want to go then go the correct mat drill in your head to get to that position.

Imagine the angles of the first position and repeat them in your head. Imagine moving forward or backward with the angles of a mat drill in your minds eyes.

Close your eyes while in position. Imagine moving to the next to position and then do so. Identify the mat drills that got you out of positions and do them independently. Identify the submissions or strikes and do them.

Watch fights in various speeds to identify common angles and study techniques.

Watch fights while exerting your body and or stressing your mind on vascular or muscular training to add difficulty to study.

Physical:
Slow down the technique.

Why do we do things in slow mo? Its a mental trip for your body to slow down the electrical impulses remembered by your body and muscles. When you slow them down our conscious mind is very present in the movements.

Program the body: when your right hand is touched throw the left hook. When your getting choked put your back to the mat, create new instincts thru repetitions and study of theory.

Fear putting yourself in negative positions or even submissions will give you great mental confidence.

The Law of Attraction:
If you put it our there it will come back to you. Whatever you imagine, dreams of, see in your mind, practice with your intentions, will come to be.

Thoughts, ideas, actions, all of them create energy and power. Thoughts are energy put into the universe, any and all thoughts have power. Good or bad. And they will all come back to you.

Thats way you must balance mind, body and spirit to be healthy.
